I’m trying to figure out how to use these apps (of course I bought nearly all of them on my iPad2. I’m trying to mix high-energy stuff for our group exercise fitness classes. Still clueless, but I’m going to keep watching this!

@RobProducertech I ended up buying it and I notice what you mean – there’s definitely something not right. One problem with djay is the cueing – even in split mode it plays the existing track with the cue post fader so as you pull the cross fader across the cue is drowned out by the mix. Unbelievable that there isn’t a single ipad dj app that doesn’t have glaring anti-dj issues!

@MikeD2006 Hey. Well, I get some strange level jumps when playing tracks in cable split mode – it jumps up a little on the breakdowns almost like the bass on the main riff is compressing the track and when it drops out the compression stops. It also sounds a little thinner. I thought it was my homemade cable at first but it works okay with djay!

@shyfrogproductions thanks! sorry for the slow reply! I have the Korg iMS-20, which is pretty good fun, but I haven’t reviewed it properly, and not sure I’ll find the time to any time soon!

You mention sound quality differences between them, could you expand on that? Is there an issue with audio fidelity on sonorasaurus?

Hi Rob, great and comprehensive review…I’ve just posted a review of both on my blog ( the-modern-dj.blogspot.com ). While I do find the DJay app more familiar (because it is replicating real-world hardware), I prefer the UI of Rex…mainly because I like my apps to look like a space-ship control room! I’ll post a link to this video on my blog as well.
    Keep up the good work!
