What is a good note taking app for the iPad?

He has a very hard time taking notes and listening to a lecture at the same time, because of past medical history. Is there an app that records the lecture and types it out for you? I have seen a few that record while you take notes but none that takes the notes for you while it records. I wasn’t sure if I was missing something or if there were none.

Dragon dictation records voice, that’s the only app that I know that can record your voice. Then, I’m pretty sure you can save it into pages.
At this point in time there is no multitasking on the iPad, so you can only run one application at a time.
Dragon Dictation is a free app that allows you to speak and instantly see the text.
Pages is a great word processing app.
With the launch of iOS 4.2 in November it should be possible to run Dragon Dictation to record the lecture and pages to make notes along the way, as multitasking will be introduced to the iPad.
